ABOUT OUR SYSTEM!

THANK YOU  for taking the time to research our "Windows Compatible" electrical estimating system we call BidWise32.  This program is packed with many time saving features that will make your life as a contractor and/or estimator much easier. Unlike many of our competitors,  BidWise32 is made exclusively for the electrical construction industry!

Minimum Computer Requirements:  The minimum size computer BidWise32 requires to run is a Pentium computer with a minimum of 32 meg of ram.  Our package runs easily with Windows 95, 98, 2000,  ME or Windows NT or XP.  You'll also need a sound card and attached speakers in order to watch and listen to our movie tutorials.

Training included!  Don't worry about having to learn a new system.  After watching a few of our training movies right on your PC,  you'll be estimating projects within a couple of hours.  You'll be impressed with the simplicity of it's use and the number of options at your fingertips.

Can more than one estimator work on the same project at the same time?   BidWise32 will allow that but under certain conditions.  It will not allow more than one estimator on any one estimate "file" at the same time however several  estimators can work on the same project at the same time by creating separate estimates  for each of their assigned areas of takeoff.   After each estimate is completed,  the estimates can be merged into one!  So the answer is YES!  Estimators CAN work on the same project at the same time!

Is BidWise32 a network system?   BidWise32 will allow you to pass projects or estimates to one another through your network but it will not allow more than one estimator to work on any one estimate "file" at the same time.  BidWise32 rests on each user's PC and not necessarily on the server alone.

BIDWISE32 FEATURES:    

1. 32 bit operating system.

2.  In any one estimate as you complete your take-off,  you can sort your material items into an unlimited number of USER DEFINED FILES. 

3.  Use the JOB CODE feature to break your jobs down into your own shop's default named take-off areas.

4.  Option to save a circuit number and/or blueprint page number with each material item as it is entered!

5.  Select from any of the approximate 5,000 electrical items found in BidWise32's database.  The selection process is made easy because in the database,  material is grouped into categories and subcategories.  The package also includes over 500 pre-built assemblies.  The database comes complete with not only material costs,  but researched labor units as well.  CSI endeavors to give each user competitive costs and figures,  however CSI offers NO  GUARANTEES  OR  PROMISES  OF  ANY  KIND  that any cost shown in the package is completely accurate.  It will be the  FINAL  RESPONSIBILITY  OF  THE  PURCHASER and/or their users to correct any misinformation found in the database or estimate before using the value shown. 

6.  Another Import feature is that you can draw items from other packages owned by i2 Technologies.  (Trade Service)  BidWise32 works with either "i2 TRA-SER GOLD" or "i2 TRA-SER PRO".  (i2 Technologies, Inc.)  You can import their items from these packages into your estimate and/or into the BidWise32's database for future use!

7.  Chaining!  When you select certain items into your estimate from BidWise32,  that item can trigger a chaining event.  As an example:  If I select 1/2" EMT into my estimate,  a  list of material that could be used with that selection will appear that you can pick and choose from.  You will see 1/2" connectors, 1/2" couplings, 1/2" straps, 1/2" conduit bodies,  boxes and even wire.  This will save you time from having to hunt and search through your database for these items if you need them.  What a great feature!  Chaining will not only save you a lot of time but it helps you to remember other material you might need to use. 

8.  Build as many temporary assemblies as you wish while working in any one estimate.  You don't have to go to the database to build it.  No one estimate will be the same so there may arise a need to create a few special assemblies for that one estimate.  You can use these temporary assemblies over and over again in the same estimate anytime thereafter. 

9.  Over 40 reports to print for any one estimate!  Our reports are designed exactly the way contractors like to view them.  You can print your estimate's material items sorted into the categories and subcategories they were found under.  Sorted material reports will help make the ordering process much easier.  You can print your material out in the exact order your material was entered into your estimate by using the "audit trail" report.  You can print your estimate's material by FILE or JOB CODE.  Print material by CIRCUIT or SHEET NUMBER.  Print your reports WITH OR WITHOUT LABOR and/or  with all costs shown! Print RFQs (REQUEST FOR QUOTES).  You can print CHANGE ORDERS and or PROPOSALS.   One of the favorites is our UNIT PRICE REPORT.  This report  (UNIT PRICE REPORT) will automatically apply the markups you've entered into your estimate's recap area onto each items initial cost such as sales tax, hourly labor costs, overhead and profit and so forth.)  It's a great report to print for per foot conduit and wire pricing and/or for any assembly's per unit value!

10.  Use the "SAVE AS" feature to allow you to duplicate any one estimate!

11. Three (3) column factor settings for MATERIAL COSTS and/or LABOR can be used for any one item entered into your estimate.  If that's not enough,  a special user option will allow you to factor your entries even higher or lower than the defaults will allow.

12.  Create separate FILES for any SPECIAL QUOTES received for you Light Fixtures and/or Switchgear. 

13.  Ability to tag  any item in the estimate as FBO. (FURNISHED BY OTHERS) or QUOTED if that item's price has already been covered in a LOT QUOTE that may be entered in another area of your estimate.

14.  A tag field is there to allow you to exclude any item or group of items from the total of your estimate.  Remove the tag to include those items again!   (If an item is tagged as  excluded,  it will not be deleted from the estimate but the cost for that item will not be totaled in the final totals.)  This is a great feature for any value engineering you may have to do! 

15.  Four (4) Quick keys are found in the system to help you select items quickly.  The F1 key will bring up the Quick Search feature for the item database,  F2 key will bring up the Quick Search feature for the assembly database.  Just enter the first or first few letters of the category you want to use and a list of those categories will be displayed.  This feature cuts out all the unwanted categories from showing thus helping you to find your item more quickly.  F3 key is used if you want to type in your own item and the F4 key is used to bring up the "temporary" assembly list.  Quick keys can save you many unnecessary steps suffered with unnecessary mouse maneuvers.

16.  Reports can be generated to show you average SQUARE FOOT COSTS for like buildings or structures you have bid previously. 

17.  An extensive recap area is found to allow your estimate or any part of your estimate to be totaled many different ways.  This area will allow you to program in hourly labor costs and/or any taxes that may apply as well as specific job markups you wish to apply.  Whether you markup your projects using overhead and profit or you markup your projects by marking up your material and/or labor,  you will find that BidWise32's recap is flexible enough to allow either choice. You can also exclude or include different estimate files from or in your bid.  You will love this section!

18.  A special CHANGE ORDER RECAP is available to allow you to create some REAL PROFIT PACKING CHANGE ORDERS for any job change!  This section alone has been known to completely pay for the user's system within just a few completed change orders!  Our customers have expressed special appreciation for this section.

19.  Availability to print professional personalized proposals for your customers.  You can tag each proposal awarded to give your company success reports for the year!

20.  Estimates are automatically backed up to help protect you from loss of files. 

21.  For your protection, BidWise32's Material Database is automatically backed up each time you enter the area.

22.  Use the "Find and Replace Feature" when needing to substitute certain material items with another item.

23.  SCALEMASTER II Tool Compatible.    (Rolling measuring wheel for measuring conduit runs and counting light fixtures and wiring devices.  Select from almost every scale imaginable!  This tool is not included with the system's price but can be added for an additional cost.

24.  Estimate Merging!  For shops with networking,  you can pass estimates through your network to other users.  Once an estimate is passed to another user,  that job can be used by that user and/or merged into another project.  The merge feature will allow any number of estimates to be merged together as one! 

25.  Any job note entered into your estimate can be tagged to remind you every time your BidWise32 system is started.  You can be reminded of bid dates, order dates, to make sure submittals are turned in, project meetings,  to get time cards, etc.!   What a great feature!  Never forget something important to do again!

26.  Annual Tech Support will give you unlimited phone help and all software upgrades and enhancements completed during the annual tech support period at no further charge!
